Mission Statement:
To deepen the spiritual life of each pastoral musician, encourage social interaction among pastoral musicians, provide an educational forum on current issues affecting musical practices in the parish, both for the musician and the clergy, and improve the musical skills of all those involved in music ministry.
Greetings to all pastoral musicians of the Archdiocese of Detroit!
Each Sunday in churches throughout the metropolitan area, we have the selfless and amazing capacity to inspire and lead assemblies of the faithful in liturgical song.
Our local NPM Chapter is dedicated to providing opportunities for learning, sharpening our skills, deepening faith, and most important, to get to know one another and support one another in ministry. Please take a look at what we have to offer this coming year and mark your calendars for these events. Invite fellow liturgical ministers, especially the clergy, who might enjoy attending one or more events.
This year has been a time of transition within our local church…a new archbishop; changing parish pastors; musicians moving into new positions; a struggling economy forcing difficult decisions. Please keep those who minister and work together in our church in your prayers. Let us come together to as disciples to strengthen and grow in the ministry of music and to encourage others as Christ does for us.
ABOUT NPM: NATIONAL AND LOCAL MEMBERSHIP
Membership in the national organization and the local chapter are separate. NPM-Detroit and NPM both offer individual and parish memberships. Local chapter membership includes peer support and discounts to all chapter-sponsored events. Members receive group discounts to the annual national convention if one holds membership to both the national and local organizations.
Holding joint membership is strongly recommended.
